75 Buidlings on Jl Dwiwarna Raya Demolished

As much as 75 buildings on Jl Dwiwarna Raya, Kartini Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta demolished, Wednesday (9/2).

Maybe the channel have been covered with cement for 20 years. No wonder its function has stopped

Based on Beritajakarta.com observation, around 150 of joint personnel deployed to demolish those buildings stood atop water channel that covered by cement. As the cement was so thick, the personnel urged to use machine to break down on it.

“Maybe the channel have been covered with cement for 20 years. No wonder its function has stopped,” expressed Martua Sitorus, Sawah Besar Sub-District Head, Wednesday (9/2).

Sitorus added, Central Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department will drain the channel post demolish.

“If the channel is already open, it could reduce flood. Related agency will fix it later,” he uttered.

Steven (50), a resident at RW 01, Kartini Urban Village, expected after the channel function normally, flood will never happen.

“Water stagnant over residential quite high when heavy rain occurred, hope flood never ever happen,” he disclosed.
